HIKES/ CAMP
Llanos Orientales location at the foot of the Andes gives it a multitude of offerings for hiking trips. Beautiful waterfalls are just a short distance away and the towering peak of the Andes are just a bit further.
Maku is blessed to be at the footstep of the great Andes Mountain Range with hiking opportunities abound. Day hikes near Villavicencio and multi-day treks in the nearby Chingaza and El Cocuy National Parks are available for all fitness levels.
BIRDS
Colombia is proud to have the greatest diversity of birds in the world and LLanos Orientales is home to some of the most spectacular species on the planet.
TRIBES
Fascinating local indigenous tribes can be found just a short drive from Makú. Makú offers day trips to share their dance and artwork in a way paying these strong people the utmost respect.
DANCE
Along with the cowboy culture comes the traditional music and dance of joropo. A most captivating and rhythmic dance combined with the sweet harp sounds- this spectacle is surely not be missed.
